The reputation of the therapy services at Surrey Place continues to shine. Time and time again, physicians refer their patients to Surrey Place for rehabilitation following an illness and hospitalization in part due to the excellent physical, occupational, and speech therapy services they know their patients will receive.
Highlights of our therapy services:
- All therapists at Surrey Place are employees of Surrey Place/St. Luke's Hospital, not a separate company contracted to provide therapy services, as is the case in most other nursing homes. This ensures patients are consistently treated by the same group of therapists, which facilitates a close relationship between the therapists and their patients as well as the physicians and nurses involved in their patients' care.
- Licensed therapists whom are onsite 6 days per week deliver all therapy services. Non-degreed personnel do not deliver any of the therapy services.
- The therapists at Surrey Place have extensive experience in working with the geriatric population, averaging 12 years of experience among 17 therapists.
- The majority of therapy sessions are one on one sessions, therapist and patient, not group therapy sessions.
- Daily progress notes. Continuity of patient care is enhanced by the completion of therapy progress notes on a daily basis. This provides a detailed account of the patient's progress toward their therapy goals.
- Therapy takes place in a spacious, sunny and well-equipped therapy gym that lends to a pleasant experience. Quiet, more private treatment spaces are utilized for patients needing an alternative setting for their therapy session.
